The vet gave Lucy a shot of Cerenia for her nausea, and started her on famotidine, metronidazole, and IV fluids to get her back on her feet. She ate a little last night, which practically had me dancing around the house! This morning she's much more awake and aware - she was very dehydrated yesterday and the fluids really made a difference. I'll give her more fluids this morning and touch base with the vet later today.

That is great news. Whatever is doing the rounds is quite nasty. We had to finger feed Pippin with Aloe Vera juice to try and hydrate her with this ghastly bout and it worked. As it is a little sweet it also helped stimulate her appetite. More chicken n rice dinners here. Lets hope Lucy will be back to normal soon. Paws crossed.

I missed this the first time, but it's so great to see Lucy is feeling better. (And yeah for just a virus!)

ReplyDeleteHope Lucy is feeling all better by now. Been down that road of not eating, not drinking and dehydration. It's no fun and very worrisome for the humans.
