Handsome Francois, a Pit Bull/Mastiff mix

Want to know what it's like to be unwanted?

I can tell you; I've been there.

They tell me I was found as a puppy, about 9 or 10 weeks old, tied to a Stop sign. Luckily for me, my mom, a volunteer at a local animal shelter (PAWS), fell in love with my crazy ears and scooped me up. She added me to her clan of rescues which at the time included a Border Collie, a Parson Russell Terrier, and a Mini-Aussie. Who knew I'd be joining such a hoity-toity crowd of purebreds! Me, the Pit Bull/Akita mix!

And that's another good point. There are all sorts of purebred rescue organizations out there. You don't have to go to a pet shop to get that doggadoodle of your dreams. So don't let me catch you setting even the toe of your Jimmy Choos in a pet shop. I'll take that toe and... well never mind, but it will never smell the same.

Just Google the breed you want + the word "rescue" and you're on your way to saving a life! Do it!
